A Special Day

Morgan, Grandma and Lauren

Morgan in the tulips

This is the picture we used for on Morgan's program.

Dad and Morgan, what a special day it was for our family.

Our family! How can it have been 8 years since our little girl was born. Morgan is such a special little girl. She is always happy, a fun girl to be around. Morgan loves school, soccer, dance, church, brownies (scouts) and swimming. She is always a little cautious the first time she tries something new; but is so proud of herself when she does it anyway! We had such a nice day together with all of our family. Charlies family came to the baptism, dance recital and party to follow. My mom flew in for the weekend and my brother, Tim and his family came in from California. They also picked up Mitchell; my sister Tara's oldest son. We had great fun with all the family together. At Morgan's baptism several family members participated by giving talks and prayers. We feel so blessed that so many family members could join us in celebrating this special day. What a blessing Morgan is to our family!

Simple Sunday

Matthew 3:16-17
16 And Jesus when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Pay It Forward

I logged on to http://sherimhoward.blogspot.com/ and read about Paying It Forward. This is really just like that movie we all saw years ago. I felt especially motivated to do this after being on the receiving end of 2 Pay It Forwards yesterday.
First as I was leaving to take Morgan to the Doctor my friend Sandy came by. She was there to see how she could help me. You see we have a lot of family coming into town for Morgan's baptism. Not to mention an open house with both sides of our family. She weeded and she planted and she even made and planted a whole new garden bed!! Who does that??? Sandy!!! She spent hours here making it look pretty!! Thank you! Thank you!! I will post pictures at a later time!
Secondly I received a package in the mail! A gift from my friend Sarah. She sent me "Spring In A Box", how cute is that??? There was a notepad, all sorts of spring colored candy, a rubber ducky, CHOCOLATE, sprinkles in a happy yellow, a little sunflower and the cutest little cupcake candles ever! Um Hello?? How well does she know me? By the way...this lovely lady's husband was just released from the rehabilitation center where he was recovering from surgery. (not to be confused with a DRUG REHAB center!!) She has been caring for her 3 boys while pregnant with her 4th child and running back and forth to her husband AND she makes the time to send me a gift???!!!??? I honestly don't know how she does this stuff!
There was also this cute quote in the box.
"No Winter lasts forever, no Spring skips its turn"
Hal Borland
Today I feel so blessed to have such great friends. I thought the idea of passing on their kindness would be a great way of showing my love and appreciation. Well that and making cinnamon rolls never hurts! I will just have to figure out how to send them to Sarah!
So to follow in the theme...for the first 5 people who leave me a little comment with a way to email you or reach of you I will make and send a little gift to you within the next 12 months! It will be a surprise when you get it!! It will also be a surprise what you get!! Oh goody doesn't that sound like fun??

Opening Day

Opening day was great! In the 60's, warm and sunny with passing clouds. Man of man I love baseball. There is nothing better then a Saturday afternoon watching your boy play baseball.
Chad's team played the Mets. It was a close game with the Mets winning by one. Chad had an excellent double play. Catching the infield pop up and then was able to tag second before the player was able to make it back. He also had the the first RBI of the game on a dropped 3rd pitch no less. The funny part is that he was mad at the end. He was really mad that he didn't play better. I guess my boy is growing up. Taking things more seriously.
I forgot to mention that the reason I do not have any good pictures is that I was score keeping. When you give your niece and nephew the camera you end up with oodles of silly pictures of themselves!!! No good ones of your son! I really need someone else ot score keep!!!

2 Nephi 2:6

6 Wherefore, redemption cometh in and through the Holy Messiah; for he is full of grace and truth.
7 Behold, he offereth himself a sacrifice for sin, to answer the ends of the law, unto all those who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit; and unto none else can the ends of the law be answered.

Fun With my Niece!!!

This is my cute niece Jessica. She is going to school here in Utah. Well being a city girl I had to introduce her to the Farm part of Farmington, her words not mine! I can truthfully say I love her! She makes everything more fun. Always laughing and seeing the fun parts of life. She was scared to death at first and this tiny little cutie pants girl, Amy helped her out! Is this not so cute?

Family Time

What a fun time it was! We loved the day! Charlie's mom went all out. The egg hunt was a hoot. The older boys told her there was just no way she could stump them. Well she took the bait and made it a huge challenge! There was a golden egg to be won!! Oh my these boys take it seriously. There was a ladder out and the boys figured there must be a reason for that. So Chad climbs up and looks finds 1 egg and climbs down. His cousin Trey, being younger and wiser climbed up to check again, finding 2 more eggs. So then Chad thought there may be more, well the ladder was being used so Charlie lifted him up, all 116 pounds of him! Yikes! Morgan loved that she found eggs where other people had passed by. She scored about 6 in the leaves. Then we ate way too much great food! Next we played kick ball to work off some of the food. We finished it all off with a birthday celebration. It was such a pretty day all around!

Simple Sunday

Luke 24 2-6, 36
2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus
4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed therabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining farments:
5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
6 He is not here, but is risen:
36 And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

A Surprisingly Good Time

This is the movie that we saw. By we I mean all of us including Charlie!! Yee Haw!!

This movie was actually really fun and cute. I was impressed that there were not any parts I had to be concerned with in regards to Morgan. When we got home this evening we found out that Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus surprised a lucky group of movie watchers at a Utah Theater. Bless their Achy Breaky little hearts! Darn it all to heck it was not our theater!

This dress was what Miley wore on her date with "The Cowboy"! I thought it was so cute that I am making one for me! NOT....let's try Morgan. I think it would be pretty cute on her either with leggings just the way it is or I will add enough length to make it knee length. Now to find a pattern close enough!

R U Kidding Me??

I had just finished posting about Chad and baseball and how late spring comes. When I hear this! Was I kidding? Now I must be honest this is hail not snow; yet! I told you it was cold. I just wanted to show you how the weather can change so fast here in the great state of Utah. When we first moved here everyone told us the motto was if you don't like the weather wait 4 hours and it will change! That has been very true!

It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year....

Chad plays catcher on his team, the Angels. (gag! Go Dodgers!!!)
Chad does not like to play catcher, but has for the last 4 years.
Chad would rather play 2nd or short stop, which he does well at too.
I love that Chad plays baseball, it is my most favorite sport!
You know Spring is here when baseball starts!
You can tell it is pretty cold still with no leaves on any trees.
Although the grass is getting green.
Here in Utah Spring does not really come until May.
May is when you can start planting.
GROSS!!! This California girl does not do well with stupid Winter!
BUT baseball starts in April and it let's me know that Summer, which is even better then Spring, is coming!

Simple Sunday

Alma 32:28

28 Now, we will compare the word unto a seed. Now, if ye give place, that a seed may be planted in your heart, behold, if sit be a true seed, or a good seed, if ye do not cast it out by your unbelief, that ye will resist the Spirit of the Lord, behold, it will begin to swell within your breasts; and when you feel these swelling motions, ye will begin to say within yourselves-It must needs be that this is a good seed, or that the word is good, for it beginneth to enlarge my soul; yea, it beginneth to enlighten my understanding, year it beginneth to be delicious to me.

31 And now, behold, are ye sure that this is a good seed? I say unto you, Yea; for every seed bringeth forth unto its own likeness.

32 Therefore, if a seed groweth it is good, but if it groweth not, behold it is not good, therefore it is cast away.

33 And now, behold, because ye have tried the experiment, and planted the see, and it swelleth and sprouteth, and beginneth to grow ye must needs know that the seed is good.

34 And now, behold, is your knowledge perfect? Yea, your knowledge

is perfect in that thing, and your faith dormant; and this because you know, for ye know that the word hath swelled your souls, and ye also know that it hath sprouted up, that your understanding doth begin to be enlightened, and your mind doth begin to expand,

Conference Bingo and Some Change

The closed purse.

The inside.

The of so very cute inside. Is this not the perfect little change purse?

So at my house we play Conference Bingo. We print off cards and then get prizes. I actually just get little prizes; a pencil, fruit snacks. But for the blackout prize it is something much better! My cute niece and her 3 good friends came up to play with us. This little purses are for them. What do you think? Will they like them? Let's hope so!

Mad Skills

A close up
A quick turn to the ball!

She sees the opening...

She starts to break away...

The goal!!! See the ball in the middle of the net? She was unstoppable!

My girl has MAD SKILLS! Morgan played soccer last year for the first time. She decided to focus on her dance classes this year. Then she came to me and said she was tired of dancing. This from the girl who steals everyones Ipod to "dance." I think the real issue is she is just getting burned out with all the practices. So she said she wanted to play soccer again, and basketball and softball. Good grief Morgan you sure know how to keep us busy. Any hoo this was her first game. Last week she had a rain-out.
So first 30 seconds of the game she scores a goal!! Or in the words of Charlie (actual words I might add) goal, goal, goal, goal, GOALLLLLLLLL!!! She rocked it out, the girl can run. She boxed out, she got in the scrum, she had another break-away goal.
I turned to Charlie and said "oh, man forget dance my girl is a soccer player!"
My girl has MAD SKILLS!!
