Cookie of the Week

Old Fashioned Gingersnaps


3/4 C shortening
1 C sugar
1/4 C molasses
1 egg
2 tsp baking soda
1/4 t salt
1 t ground ginger
1 t ground cloves
1 t cinnamon
2 C flour
sugar to roll dough in

Blend together shortening and sugar. Add molasses and egg, beat well.
Add spices, soda, and salt mix. Add flour.

Form teaspoonfuls of dough into balls; roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on
cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 12-13 minutes.
